Absinthe No... it is not illegal

Absinthe was never illegal in the US as some people like to think. What was outlawed is the wormwood found in the true Absinthes.

It has never been illegal outside the US, and more than a fair handful of non-US residents frequent Fanpop.

Just so ya know before you start a campaign against this spot ;)

Also - it is legal to own and drink the true Absinthe complete with wormwood... the law is against selling it.

I take that back. The ban was lifted entirely recently. True absinthe complete with wormwood is completely legal now in the US again.

You may still not sell it in Denmark and because of that, my sister bought some last time we were in Germany. Yesterday we made our neighbor drink it, and he got so drunk! The worst thing about it is that he is 78 years old.
