i am studied in psychology and have learned quite a bit about problem solving. the first step to getting back to how you want to be is identifying what is wrong. once you know why you are upset you can either avoid the problem, or fix it. a lot of people have trouble identifying the problem, though, so in the meantime you can try several other things. you said that you have hurt yourself. im going to assume that you mean cutting yourself. what you need to do is think. think if you really want to get yourself out of this problem. if you do then you should know that contrary to popular belief, cutting yourself is not the result of a mental disorder at all. many people do it because physical pain distracts you from that of the emotional. if you want to stop hurting yourself you need to be logical. set a time for you to stop. it can be next month, next week, whenever you think that you can stop. when you are upset try ripping something, digging a hole in your yard, confide in a journal, anything that is not destructive to another, including yourself. you can try drawing a thin red line where you would usually cut yourself. it reminds you of the blood without actually hurting you. the most difficult part of getting out of depression is the confiding part. think of someone that you trust; an adult would be best. it could be a parent, an inspiring aunt, a great teacher, a school counselor, anyone. find them at a time when they can listen and tell them one-on-one what you posted here. don't put it off-- the sooner you find help, the sooner your life will get better.

Anti-depressants, or seeing a psych could help. I don't know either how to efficiently get over depression, but you could try those.
