As someone who has grown up with mild cerebral palsy, I know kind of how you feel. Some people who meet me for the first time may feel uncomfortable because they don't understand. If they ask me a question, I'm glad to answer it. Sometimes, I just have to wait till people get to know me. Then they don't notice the my handicap, they notice me. My best advice is be yourself. If a friend treats you in away you don't like, politey tell them. If they ask questions you can explain your feelings or help them understand the situation. We can't control the actions of others. Only ours. So try to keep a good attitude. If you have a positive attitude, people are more likely to react to you the way you want them to. Hang in there.

It is hard to explain to someone who's never experienced those type of things. Once you go through something like that it is easier to be understanding of others. Take care.

Well first of all don't sweat it. These people are going to treat you differntly. I know this because my hand sometimes has short shake attacks. People treat my differntly becuase of this. What i would do is take a stand. Go up to the people and say. "Besides my mom being blind i have a perfectly normal family. Please, I am asking you as a friend to not treat me differntly than anyone else."

Good answer. I know what you mean about your hand shaking. I have slight tremors, and sometimes people don't know what to think. Once they get to know me, it's like they don't notice anymore.
