Do you agree with her having this someone in her life? If she is happy with this person make sure she knows you're happy for her and support her because the last thing she wants is for you to not be happy about it. If you are unhappy about it, see how she is feeling and maybe express why you are unhappy and if she can settle your unhappiness towards the situation.

i would focus on the relationship with your mother and viewing that separately from the choices she makes in her life. even if you want to protect her..you cant save her from getting hurt.
