The eighth season will take place in the not-so-distant future and will be a crossover of the first and third season (Murder House and Coven respectively). It\'s also said to involve witches after showrunner Ryan Murphy teased "witches rule this September".

Emma Roberts has hinted that she\'ll be reprising her role as Madison Montgomery in the upcoming season.

regulars Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Kathy Bates and Billie Lourd will also be returning. Paulson has previously played the medium Billie Dean Howard in the first and fifth seasons, as well as Miss Robichaux\'s Academy headmistress Cordelia Foxx in the third season.

Joan Collins will also be joining the cast in season 8 and will be playing Evan Peters\'s grandmother.
