Before i saw the prequels i always thought that darth vader was mostly evil with only a shred of good in him but when i saw the prequels i saw anakin as a tragic character who wanted so much to save the woman he loves that he turned to the dark side to save her but ending up losing her anyway,even though he got consumed by the dark side he was never really evil a fact he proved when he saved his son's luke life.

When he turned in Episode III it made me feel sorry for him. Since I'm an older fan I saw a kid who got brainwashed by someone who was supposed to be his friend. Now I look at Darth Vader in his armor and know who's face is under the mask. Deep down in Darth Vader's persona was a small spark that was waiting for someone to fan the flame of goodness to life and it took the love of a son to his father to bring it forward.
