My parents don't understand anime at all, but my brother, whose one year younger than me, watches anime with me. So far, we've watched the Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya movie, Death Note, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, we watched some of Angel Beats, but ended up dropping it because he really, really, really wanted to watch Attack on Titan with me. So we're doing that right now! I'm watching the newest episode with him tonight. ^_^ Next is Dangan Ronpa, and he's already seen the 2 episodes out right now and is ready for more.
A sad realization for me, no one in my family watches anime, except for two male cousins who watch only mainstream shounen (Naruto, One Piece). I only talk about the cute things in anime with my mom. And I show some scenes to my little sister sometimes, but that's all.
^CandyforniaGurl You could always watch anime with your little sister starting now. That's what I did with mine and she's older now and loves anime! :) Haha just don't watch Chobits with her like I did. XD Watch something like Fancy Lala with her, but don't make her watch it with subtitles just yet, or she'll lose focus and probably hate/dislike anime forever! Same goes to bubblegum_kiss. Find something they like. That's all there is to it!
My Cousins who live right next to us ^^ and we sometimes watch anime (or anything) in their house at their living room where almost all of us are to hang out (yes, even parents) and because of that out parents/auntie watched anime too...i guess..
I tried to get my little brother to watch some shows with me but he doesn't like reading subtitles...
ah, FOREVER ALONE >//<
but none of my other family members watch it.
