​Right so Ashton Irwin basically reckons he \'couldn\'t give a f***\' if 5 Seconds of Summer are deemed \'cool enough\' by serious music journo-types, asking: "What is that culture of judgment? I think that\'s bullshit.​"

How do we know this? Because the 5SOS boys have done an interview with the Guardian about being taken seriously as artists and all that malarky; and they haven\'t held anything back. But are they worried fans outside of the 5SOSfam and teen demographic aren\'t gonna bother listening to their shiny new album

5SOS\'s Ashton Irwin opens up about his battle...

5SOS\'s manager Vibia Auld admitted it\'s \'hard\' for the boys, saying: "We\'ve got all these amazing statistics we can reel off to make people pay attention, but the figures just don\'t hit home with some people. Some listeners are determined not to like the boys."

Ashton also admitted the boys are only just starting to get asked about their music, saying: "We\'ve been in this band for four years and it\'s taken four years for any media outlet to come to us and say, \'Hey, I\'d like to talk about some real shit,\' instead of who our favourite Disney princesses are.

"If you want to succeed, you can\'t make music to please a few people. I want to make music that feels good for everyone, and that everyone can understand."

Luke chatted about the new album a bit, too. He revealed: "The first album was written over the course of a couple of years while we were supporting One Direction on tour. It was us trying to figure out exactly who we were as a band. For this second album, which was written in about three months, we knew exactly who we were and what we wanted to do."
