Atheism Question

What is GOD in your opinion?

He owns a Wii console, and we're his Miis. He can erase us, shake us up and down, and let us fall again. Religion teaches us nothing but THIS.

Jesus is God.
Je suis Dieux
I am God...in French.

God is the ego and self of the person who believes in him. Unless you are a helpless little damsel in distress, because women lack brains and rights and feelings in the Bible, then your almighty penis-having husband is God.

Now if we start talking about Egyptian Gods, I say they are made of stardust and awesomeness. :D The word Egypt derives from the name of one of my favorite Egyptian Gods Ptah.
I cannot get enough of those ancient deities.

God is the manifestation of what man does not know, a placeholder for gaps in knowledge. Can't explain where lightning comes from? Well, that's the great Zeus.

Wait, science has found an answer for that?

Ah, I take it back. Silly ancient greeks with their idols. Let's just call all that nonsense "mythology" so I can introduce you to my new BETTER god, who coincidentally is the cause of all this Black Plague we've been having lately. He's displeased with us, you know.

What's that you say? Bacteria?

Well of course, good man! I was just kidding, I know better than to trust the judgement of those backwards Europeans from the lowly Middle Ages. We now have PRESENT knowledge from the amazing PRESENT with all its new PRESENT past-destroying logic (presently). By the way, have we fully fleshed out how the creation of the universe was triggered?

WHAT? Only theories? Science, you have scorned me! If you don't have a flaw-free explanation for the beginning of time after all these years, you must be incapable of finding one! After all, our PRESENT knowledge is so great that we will probably never know any more than what we do right this second. To find the answer, I must TURN TO GOD! WHOOOOSH!

Religion out, bitches.

Our knowlegde on God is very limited. But god is a being that cannot be described in such human languages. Our minds capacity is too narrow and limited to understand god. In other words, GOD IS TOO EPIC!!!! Awww yeahhh.

God is a mixture of the human ego and fear. An excuse for an individual to excuse murder, rape, genocide, and slavery. But in a more comedic response i would have to say it would be this guy.>>>>>

A theory I've been toying with is that our ancestors (early humans) invented the idea of god out of fear of death - or fear of non-existence and to explain questions they had but couldn't find the answer to. It's a comfort thing. Imagine you're parents had just been killed by a wild animal or enemy tribe... You would most probably find it more comforting to think they've gone to a better place and still exist, then to think of them as now just dead bodies. Maybe it was a defining period in human evolution - when we first became fully aware of our own mortality?

Hmmm, God is a person that brain-washed Christians by saying "I love you" so many times that the Christians stopped thinking about the exsistence of him and just followed someone who loved them very much. This is crazy, nah, to me, God is Lucifer but I have wanted to use that explanation for SUCH a long time.

Well, in my opinion he is a man-mad illusion. An easy quick "solution" out of everything that we can't yet explain.

A couple hundred or so years ago:
"Why is the sky blue?"
"Because God made it that way!"

Today:
"What created the universe?"
"God of course!"

But my views are very different from other people. And God is something different for every person. And I respect others opinion and religion if they believe in him~

What I think of God is that I think everyone should be agnostic because really we don't even know if there really is a God or not. You'd have to die and go to heaven to find out if whether God really does exist or whether he doesn't exist. Weather aside, look at the history of what God or None God has intended. Why would God intend a World War where soldiers had to sleep in dark depressing trenches with rats crawling all over their faces and have them be given trench food? Why would God intend a day where two planes crashed into two buildings leaving no survivors? And what kinda God would've intended a day where twenty kids and six adults get shot and having them die long before their times were suppose to come and having them get a funeral instead of a Christmas?! These kinda thinks make us question whether God is real or not. That's what I think anyway.
