No, they were not. If you recall, in the book, Edward said something like "It wasn't long after he changed me when he found his wife, Esme." Edward was changed in 1918, and Esme was changed around 1920. Esme was found in the morgue, while Edward was found during the Spanish Influenza outbreak.

no. edward was changed first. esme jumped off a cliff and edward was in chigago, i don't believe that esme was in chigago when she lost her child and jumped off a cliff. edward was turned in 1918 and esme was turned in 1921 so edward is 4 years older then her.
