Do you believe in Adam and Eve?

I believe in the mitochondrial Eve, and her male equivalent. (I've heard him called Y-Chromosomal Adam?). The fact that we can trace every girl's mitochondrial DNA back to a group of eight women is pretty impressive. Your mitochondria is identical to your mother's mitochondria, whether you are a boy or girl. You always inherit your mitochondria from whoever contributes the first X chromosome (aka your mom). And she got hers from her mom, and she got it from her mom... which makes it easy to trace, which is why science can do awesome stuff like that.

And I believe the Biblical Adam and Eve are a metaphor for the first tribe of Homo sapiens.

So yes... you could say I believe.

For me, the gene pool is far too diverse for the entirety of humanity to have come from only two people.

I do actually. I mean like..where do u think it started? We both know two people are need to repopulate, so its obvious. At least for me it makes sense...

Yes. The Bible says there was Adam and Eve so I believe it.

Yes, I do believe they existed. It's part of the Creation story. If you wanna beleieve the Creation story, you gotta believe that Adam and Eve existed.
