Why DID Junko & Mukuro had different surnames ?

I believe Junko's surname is only a stage name. A lot of celebrities do that all the time. The same could also apply for Mukuro since she has grown as a mercenary. Both spent their childhood in the streets so they could have severed their ties with the rest of the family !!!!
