Delta Goodrem
D.O.B: 9 November 1984
Home town: Sydney, NSW
Star sign: Scorpio
Her early years might have be riddled with small singing and acting appearances on Aussie shows like Hey Dad and A Country Practice, but Delta Goodrem didn’t really emerge from obscurity until her debut on Neighbours. It was her gig as shy wannabe singer, songwriter Nina Tucker that made music bosses, and the Australian public perk up and take notice. Since then, Delts made a name for herself as Australia’s Sweetheart. Her 2003 breakthrough album Innocent Eyes was a smash hit and delivered countless number one singles.
Just as she was at the pinnacle of her success, Delta received some bad news - she was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma, a type of treatable cancer. Nevertheless, she overcame the hurdle and, in 2004, released her second album Mistaken Identity. She also starred in the movie version of the Australian novel Hating Alison Ashley.
With her fiancé, Westlife singer Brian McFadden, Delta moved to the US in 2006 to start working on her new album and have a well-deserved break from the spotlight. They now have a home together in London.
Delta re-emerged with a hot new look, a new attitude and self-titled album, Delta.
