Disney Question

Why has Hook aged?

Ok, so you know how the latest Tinkerbell film includes a young captain hook? And then in the original peter pan, hook's old? How the heck is that possible, cause Hook lives in neverland, but you can't age there, so why has he? I hope this makes sense, cause I had to rush this question. :(

Maybe it's a matter of perspective. Peter Pan didn't want to grow up, so he didn't.
Hook wanted to become a pirate captain, so he felt already "more grown up", and he did grow old.

Maybe he left Neverland at some point? Or maybe people not from Neverland age? I'm not sure, honestly.

It's a cartoon. Maybe the writers felt the kids wouldn't notice because they would never see the original ones?
