What is a good site to start writing fanfic? Or should I just make my own website?

This is a doozy. I love Fanpop, and I'm not trying to scare anyone into thinking that I'm leaving the site. I'm not, so don't worry! It's just that I want to find a website to only write fanfictions. (I take requests!) And I was wondering... what are your suggestions? I've used Wattpad before, but have since gotten a bit tired of it, Fanfiction.net is rumored to be "dead" (I don't believe those rumors), Tumblr is toxic, and AO3 has a LOOOONG waiting list, which I think is a waste of time, and I want to be able to customize an account and stuff. So, what do you think? Should I start my own website for fanfictions? Yes or no? If so, any ideas for a name?
