When did you start watching Doctor Who and why did you start watching it?

Saterday night+nothing planned+netflix=whovian for life!

I first started watching it back in 2010. My brother was watching it and I came in and sat down because I had nothing better to do. It just went on from there.

i started watching Doctor Who February 2013. i heard alot of people were talking about it at school, and one day i saw it on Netflix, i asked my dad if he had seen it, he said it was pretty good.
so i watched the first episode.
AND I WAS HOOKED.
from that point on i watched like 5 or 6 episodes a day.
i started watching the series with Christopher Eccleston and Billie Piper.
i finished series 7 a few months ago.
a few weeks ago i just finished series 4 of Torchwood, so about last month i heard of Torchwood. I WANT A SEASON 5 GOSH DERNET!!!!!!!!!!

Watch my first episode in 2006 because a few people I knew were enthusiastic about it. I liked it but was disappointed by "The Unquiet Dead" and stopped watching.
I start watching again when I saw "the stolen Earth" on tv.

Three days ago, but I've finished watching season one already!

I started watching Doctor Who two months ago, and now I am in the 5th season. The reason is that my friends told me that it is an awesome show. Plus I love Harry Potter and David Tennant so much, I knew that David was playing in Harry Potter so I wanted to see him in a brand new role.

I began watching it in 2005, recently after the series had been revived.
I was sitting with my mum in the living area who was flicking channels on the television, where upon, for a second, I saw a Dalek eyestalk. Intrigued, I asked her to turn it back to that channel, perplexed as to why she seemed so reluctant to do so. And that was when I watched my first episode, 'Dalek'. As of then, I fell irrevocably in love with the show, due to one being able to so easily suspend reality when watching it and in addition, how audacious the enigmatic Doctor was. :) Xxx

I started watching in August or September of last year. I saw my parents watching it and I got interested. I thought it was really epic and I loved it so much! Eventually I started watching it all the time! Now I'm waiting for November 23.

I started watching Dr Who about 3 years ago. The reason I watch it is because I love Matt Smith. I met him in Cornwall and I was really shy. I manged to get his autograph. Best day of my life

i cant remember the first one i ever watched, but i think it was ether: the end of time pt2 or the eleventh hour and then it just went on from there and i watched it so much every day that my mom had to put a limit on it and that made me so mad! also now when i walk by a blue phone box, i walk in to it to check how big it is on the inside

I've been watching for about 10 years now, I was just little when I started to watch Tom Baker who was my first doctor. I watched because it was one of my Dad's favorite shows and I really loved it, had a mental breakdown when Baker regenerated ha-ha. I still watch the show today and love it, though the 7th season was a bit dry and disappointing.

I pushed the wrong channel, saw the Shakespeare Code (as well as the 10th Doctor :D) and loved it and I've been hooked on the series ever since! :))

2 years ago, because my best friend told me to. AND NOW I'M ADDICTED

I was sat on my dads lap first time I watched. Episode 1 - Season 1 with Ecclestone. Since then, born and bred, whovian.

I watched the first episode (of the reboot) in February/March (I could look up the day for you but I'm very lazy). I had been planning to for nearly a year because of what I had heard on tumblr but never got around to *actually* watching until me and a friend had an hour and a half to spare.
I'm not actually caught up because I've been busy, but I'm on the second part of Season 7 and I've started Classic as well and I am in Season 2 there. :33

I started watching when I was around 12 and because my mom is a whovian and wanted me to watch it because it was FINALLY back on TV. So now I'm a whovian for life!

The first episode I watched was back in 2007 with 'Smith and Jones', because my parents reckoned me and my sister would like it. Loved the episode, fell in love with David Tennant, and was already buying Doctor Who adventures magazines within 6 weeks. After series 3, I watched series 1 and 2, and I became addicted. I have been an obsessive whovian ever since!
