I wouldn't really care. If I am a fan of someone and someone wants to say something about it then that's their problem.

I would go crazy!!! I hate people who say Eggman is stupid and boring, so I would tell them to shut up!!!

I wouldn't care much, although I would be curious as to why they feel the way they do. Everyone is a fan of something, so you can remind them of what they like every time they bring up how you like Eggman or Sonic :)
