I have had technology since I was three. Playing link and link on my SNES against/with my family (parents included!) were part of my childhood. I came onto the internet when I was around eleven, still fueled by a need for technology, rarely seen without my Gameboy and link in it. I had to, as most people, find a place on the internet to settle into. I tried many places, first setting myself up a site at link, probably back when Dave and papa were still there and hadn't even started to think of Fanpop yet.
As I grew older and more knowledgable about the internet and life in general, I went searching for other sites, and finally decided on the username PkmnTrainerJ and also ending up joining link, linklink and more recently Facebook and link link as well as joining a few forums, which can be found in some spots.
Then along came a brilliant show called link and as I wanted to research Lost episodes and talk with other Lost fans I went searching on the internet for such a place and then I found Fanpop, where I began to watch the episodes earlier than they aired here in the UK but had not joined up at that time, but when I saw all the brilliant discussion and community on Fanpop I had to join.
My first act on here was to add trailers for Lost's next episodes to the Lost Spot and it wasn't long before I made the Pokémon Spot and added content to it. I've seen this site evolve, influenced users such as link to join the site, and recieved a personal welcome message from dave:
Hey J!
I just wanted to personally welcome you to Fanpop! It's been really cool to see you become such an active user on the site! Lovin' the Pokemon site and always nice to see a Desmond fan. :) You totally get what we're trying to do here and I just wanted to thank you for contributing so much already since you've joined. We're working on some really cool new features that I think you're going to like. Feel free to contact me with any feedback or suggestions you have for the site! And stay tuned!
Dave
With all the wonderful things I have been able to contribute to this site, such as my Lost soapbox articles, which I love writing, down to making a new spot and realising that other people are interested in the obscure little things you love.
The other week I realised that this is where I truly belong. Where I can make picks about things I love, add images to make spots better, and add links and videos that I'm suprised aren't on here already, as communicating with other fans and
writing articles about anything that exist only here.
I can finally say, that after all that searching:
I'm home...and I will never leave
