The clouds of grey shifted in the night sky. The darkness seeped in almost a dead silence. Everything was at peace.
Untill two best friends rocketed across the sky, laughing with joy, rolling across the snowy land as they fell. Their names were Sophie and Flana.
Flana stood up, shaking the snow off of herself with a huge smile smacked across her face, The same of Sophie who landed beside her.
"That never gets old" Sophie laughed.
"Especially in the dead of night" Flana chuckled. They both turned to the sky over their heads, looking over the moon and stars in perfect shining veiw. After a few moments of silence, Flana turned to Sophie, "I hope you enjoyed your birthday."
"I did" Sophie smiled. She was now seven.
Reaching into her pocket, Flana reaveled a necklace made of thick string, A single bead hanging in the middle. "Here" she said, lying the necklace in Sophie's palm, "I made this for you."
Sophie looked down at her hand, touching the single bead with her thumb. It was a silver sphere with a painting of a wave clashing together with flame.
"It represents our friendship" Flana said, Proud of her present, "Even though we are opposing elements." Sophie tightend the necklace around her neck, and through her arms around Flana in a hug.
"Thanks Flana. I'll never take it off."
Four years past, and what seemed like a perfect friendship was starting to boil over. Sophie and Flana got into a huge argument. Neither one of them could remember what over, but their friendship was forever torn.
Flana stood bolting her anger through fire, Sophie using the water around her to defend and lash back. Infuriated, Sophie brought up a peice of an ice berg in the water near by, and sent the block of ice hurtling at her old friend.
But it didn't hit her.
Instead, the ice berg had caused I child to get his legs crushed, and a long cold-burn down his left side. Sophie watched in wide eyed horror as the child cryed in pain and agony. Flana didn't bother to stay any longer. Taking one last glance at her beloved ex-friend, Flana fled, planing never to return, and Sophie stood there, frozen in her trcks, The friendship necklace blowing in the wind.~
