Are birds, dragons, lizards, etc. considered fursonas?

I have a special dragon character named Aurane. (She's on my icon.) I also have quite a lot of other bird and dragon characters. The bird in the pic is named Eivyne.
Are birds, dragons, lizards, etc. considered fursonas?
