What's with all the hating on Mothra?

Because she's a girl in the Godzilla films?
Biollante and Megaguirus are females too, yet they get more love than hatred.

Because she dies in nearly any Godzilla film she's in, along with the Rebirth Of Mothra movies?
She's a guardian of Earth. Sacrifice is normally in her job description and always, she goes out fighting strong.

Because the ROM trilogy wasn't the best?
While Rebirth Of Mothra 2 did rely too much on cutesy, it wasn't bad. The first and third movie were clearly the superior films, relying on darkness and horror and terror. The whining children in ROM 1 though... Goddamn.
