I agree. I think he tried Killing Harry 7 times and failed all 7 times. But even worse than that, he had all these minions willing to top off Harry, and what does he say? "I must be the one to kill Harry Potter" I think after the 3rd or 4th try, he should have looked for someone else to do the job.
