Sorcerer's Stone? You crazy Americans. Philosopher's Stone over here. Order of The Phoenix was my favourite as it contained Nymphadora Tonks, my favourite non-main character.

Am I seriously the only one to prefer GOF? REALLY? Haha, GOF has everything in it, action, romance, character development, hell, even an attempt at politics! Plus it has the only shocking twist of the series. Sorry to say it, but OOTP wouldn't even make my top three.

PoA is the only book that I never get tired of. Although OotP is pretty good, too.

SKQ, GoF is so the best, Cedric's death was such a wicked twist, set you up for dark things to come.

i changed my answer now that the last book is out, so my response on here no longer made sense. i really loved the last book, and i now forgive jk rowling for everything she's put me through over the last couple of years

Has to be Order of The Pheonix, it starts to get much darker, and a lot more action packed.

The first book has always been the best one.

i picked the Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince because the ending was good and it will really makes you feel excited about the next book which is the Deathly hollows...i love ginny and harry...

I think it has the best plot!

how could people say that the seventh is the best if it hasn't even come out yet? number four is the best all the way.

I like the later ones, but POA's got the perfect amount of plot and backstory, and there's no chapter that's too sad to read. HBP, I am looking at you.

POA for sure, it was the best written and I loved it at the time. I really think I am so lucky that I was the age group it was all meant for n Im leaving school as the last book comes out, sob sob, end of an era!

The Goblet of Fire owns!

I almost cried when Dumbledore died...It was such a sad book, and many things happened

I know it isnt out yet but I just know it is going to be my favorite

I love the Goblet of Fire, the details of what is going through Harrys head is just amazing!!! Once I read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows im sure i'll love that one even more!! Still, all the books so far are great!!

Azkaban was the first one I read when I was 7 and its the one that got me into reading the books so it'll always be my favourite!

I thought it was the beginning of the darkening of the series , even though Vodemort - sorry, 'you-know-who' - wasn't even in it!

For me, it was a tough choice between GOF and OOTP. The twist at the end of GOF was one of the best things in the series thus far, but OOTP has my all-time favorite part of any HP book, and that's Fred and George's flight from Umbridge.

Who picked Deathly Hallows? You can't assume it will be your favorite...

It was such a tough choice for me between OOTP and POA. But, i love the Department of Mysteries scenes at the end of the book and also i loved to read about the students rising up against Umbridge!

Very difficult choice between Order of the Phoenix and the Prisoner of Azkaban, those are my favorites.

I really like all from 3rd to 6th (haven't read 7th). And 1st and 2nd already are too childish.
But I choose OOTP because I liked battle with Umbridge, and when Harry was thought to be nuts. It was funny.

Right now for me it's The Deathly Hallows, but that might be just because it had just come out. If it hadn't I would have said Order of the Phoenix, which I love because of Harry and Voldemort's link and the showdown at the end between Voldemort & Dumbledore - Brilliance!

DH was the best, closely followed by OotP, and then HBP.

Then GoF, PoA, PS and CoS.

I loved this one, and the movie. I hated Dolorus Umbridge though, she's a nasty woman and made me so angry in the fiffth book. The seventh one was good, but it made me sad how there would never be anymore. The fourth one was good but really long
The sixth one is sad cuz Albus dies!

I like this one the best because Lupin made it all better, so did Sirius black.

kim1981- its titled 'sorcerer's stone' in the usa because the publishers made her change the title and so the movie released in america as the sorcerer's stone. they americanized the book with various edits with the title being one.

Um yeah GOF is just the best! Romance, intrigue, international wizards, triwizard cup, Ron hermione lovefights, QUIDDITCH WORLD CUP, the weasleys meet the dursleys. Great one JK great one.
As for the others
#1 - boring almost didnt read anymore after reading this one
#2 - other than Norbet, or now Norberta as we know didnt care about it
#3 - second favorite- hello sirius and lupin
#5 - seeing the M.O.M. was cool but other than that and sirius' death coulda cared less
#6 - third favorite, so much to see and do great sixth novel
#7 WAS THE WORST PIECE OR CRAP! The ending? The fluidity? The back stories? I could not believe that was what JK gave us as a last book. Plus Fred died, so the book was a total loss.

OOTP is my favorite. POA comes in a very very close 2nd though. I liked how OOTP had a little bit of everything in it, and Umbridge was genius. I never thought I would hate a fictional character like that. But yeah. My list would kinda go like this.

POA has gotta be my favourite because I love Lupins character!

3: It introduced us to Sirius, Lupin and the Marauders. No one dies, and even though you know bad things are going to happen eventually, the book makes you feel content that things have at least gone a little bit right for once. Remus and Sirius are also easily my favorite characters.

5: Except for the ending( D: !!!), it was a decent book. This was back before Ginny and Tonks were made into nothing except fangirling baby-making machines (7th book) and were actually cool.

4: The best book, action-wise. It was also my favorite movie.

1: It was the book that started it all. It's a bit weird compared to the other books, but it still makes me giggle when I read it.

6: It was okay. I could start to see the quality in writing go down from here.

2: It was okay. Not my favorite. I dunno what it is about it, but...eh.

7: DH sucked. Majorly. Too many mistakes and continuity errors. It felt like she just rushed to get the stupid book out. Characters were...out of character. IMO, it was the worst one. And the epilogue was probably written by a 14 year old fangirl.

hello! ootp is the best one over. i love them all but this one has the most sirius. there needs to be one about the marauders coz i love james.

i love the hermione-ron-lavender love traingle... ron is adroable and i love him dearly... he was a big charactor in this book... plus the ending was a damn trip

You Americans have some horrible cover-art. But your 6th book cover is better than the British version. It was a tie between POA or GOF for me.

You got to like TDH alot better than any other of the HP books. Its gots more adrenalline than any of the books pecides the half-blood prince. HP ATDH has action,great storylines, and loads of other things the other books don't quite have.

The 7th for me has the highest highs and the lowest lows. The 6th was the most enjoyable for me. Although the 1st is a close close second, because it is the first and so well written.

the Half blood prince and Deathly hallows are so the best, cant make up my mine which one i like the best. Prob HBP coz its really dark!!!!!

i love the last one, it was so sad, it made me cry,i love the sixth one too that book also made me cry in the end, that was really a good book too, i think these two are the best in the series.

I loved this book; it had Dumbledore's Army, Umbridge, Ron playing Quidditch, Hagrid and Grawp, all that good stuff.

Harry potter and the Deathly Hallows is By far the best harry potter book. The scenes of war, and loss, and even romance and comedy. this is hands down the best book in print.
