One of the simplest but delicious uses of basil is for insalata caprese: slices of tomatoes topped with fresh mozarella and basil. Add salt, pepper, olive oil and balsamic vinegar at will.

I was telling Dave Lu that I recently had a lemon and basil gelato and it was AWESOME (I know it sounds weird/bad, but it wasn't).

Basil pesto is great, of course.

I like a real simple pasta with tomatoes, garlic and fresh basil.
