So, I'm not sure what to do with this but I figured I would start here. I'm a big fan of Douglas Adams and grew up with his books and the BBC series. My twin brother and I trade 80s themed gifts based on our childhood each year. He got me an homage to Highlander (broadsword included) and I made him...well, a working replica of the Guide. It took me a while and, although I'm not sure if there's any intellectual property issues, it was a lot of fun to build. I'm not looking to sell it, just wanted to say that YES, you can build this yourself and it's totally portable and can be expanded upon.
