When my nan watched iCarly a couple of weeks ago she said that Sam looked like me, which she really doesn't (the only similarity I can think of is that we both have very long hair). But there you go.
Was it Ellen's first time watching iCarly? Because if so, she may have just not seen Miranda too clearly and somehow her mind tricked her into thinking she looked a lot older.
She is quite mature for a teen though, yes, so maybe it was just the way she acted rather than how she looks.
