End of Chapter 8
A few minutes later the door opened just enough for a bottle of water to fit through. I reached my hand up, grabbing the bottle from a gloved hand. I was about to say thank you but the door slammed again.
I sighed as I walked back to my plate, opening the water as I walked. I took a few small sips, not sure when they would give me another bottle. I ate the apple and a few more bites of turkey before I was full and slightly tired.
I realized that I should not have been tired, I had slept after crying. I was trying to figure out what was going on when my vision started to fade, the sounds echoing through my ears..as if I were in a tunnel. I knew someone had drugged me...I knew that this was not good. I had enough time to wonder what was going to happen, and think of Edward before I went unconscious again.
Chapter 9
I dreamt of the Cullens, all of them searching for me...their voices echoing in my dreams. I saw Alice clinging to Jasper as she frantically searched for any sign of where I was. Carlisle and Esme on their phones, calling in all the help they could find....anyone who owed them favors in the past. Emmett and Rosalie...Emmett searching all of the obvious places, getting angry because he couldn't find me...like we were playing hide and seek....and Edward.
Edward looked right at me in my dream, his eyes searching mine for the answer of where I was. "Where are you love?" He asked. I screamed in my dream that I didn't know where I was, that I was scared, that I needed him...but as I began screaming everything faded..the dream ended.
I laid in the hay...wait. I opened my eye, instant confused by my surroundings. When I went unconscious I knew that I was in the "cell," laying on the hay..but now.
I was laying in a very plush bed, the linens softer then any I have ever seen. I sat up quickly looking around the room, my jaw falling to the floor. I swung my feet free from the bed letting them fall to the floor where they met the plushest carpet I had seen, it was a brilliant shade of white that seemed to light up the entire room.
I spun slowly in a circle as I looked at walls, they were covered from ceiling to floor in violet tapestry that looked so soft that I had to go over and touch it to find if it was as velvety as it looked....and it was.
There was a dresser set against the far wall, a dressing table next to it and a very large bookcase set into the wall. I walked over to the dresser because I saw something folded on it with a note on top.
"We apologize for your previous 'arrangements.' Please accept my apologies, I hope you are more comfortable now."
The note was not signed, no clue for me as to who had me...or why. I threw the card on the floor and shook out the clothes to see what was picked out for me.
I started laughing when I saw the long sky blue dress. I shook my head as I slipped off my jeans and shirt, folding them and putting them on the dresser. I slipped the dress on, surprised by how well it fit the curves of my body. I stood in front of the mirror, surprised by the reflection.
I was standing there when someone knocked on the door, causing me to jump..my hands going to my mouth to cover the scream that was trying to escape.
I slowly walked over, pulling the door back slowly. Outside was a young man with brown, curly hair who was looking at me strangely.
"Oh! I apologize." He said as he blushed. "I was sent to see if you needed anything?"
I felt my face harden as he watched me closely. "Yes, there are a few things I need." I said, my temper getting out of control. "I need to know where I am, how to get out of here, and a phone!" I screamed.
He looked honestly surprised by my anger, as if he were concerned by how I was reacting. "Well, I will have to find out...is there anything you need?" He asked, hoping I would answer differently.
"NO...I only want to go home!" I screamed.
"I'm sorry." He said as he pulled the door shut, locking it from the outside.
"Please!?" I cried as my hands slapped against the door. "Please just let me call someone." I cried, tears running down my face. "Please just let me have that?"
I still heard the man on the other side of the door, I knew that he heard me pleading with him. "I'll try, I'll see what I can do." He whispered as he walked down the hall.
That was the one of the best things I could have heard, that he was going to try to get me a phone. I could call Edward, tell him I was fine, that I missed him....that I loved him.
I walked over to the bookshelf, my mouth falling open as I read the titles of the books that were stacked on the shelves. Romeo and Juliet, Weathering Heights, Merchant of Venice and the rest of my favorites were all on these shelves...someone had planned this, put a lot of work into making me comfortable.
The thought of being kept here like a fairytale princess was enough to cause my stomach to turn, and make my heart pound in my chest.
I walked back to the bed, sitting down on the edge of the bed my head swimming in fear. I did my best to keep my breathing calm so that I didn't hyperventilate.
I curled up on the bed, not caring that I was wrinkling this beautiful dress. My thoughts instantly went to Edward, how he must be so worried about me. How he would be with his family, I knew that they all would be looking for me...but I hoped that he wouldn't be too short with them.
I was thinking about each one of them, both smiling and crying at the same time when I heard a soft knock at the door.
I wiped my eyes on the sheet before walking slowly to the door. I leaned against the frame, my head resting against the soft velvet. "Yes?" I said, my voice thick with crying.
"I'm going to open the door." The voice said softly.
I moved back to the bed as the door opened, revealing the same man that I had talked to earlier. I shrunk away from him, unsure as to what he wanted.
"I snuck this out," He said as he pulled a small phone out of his pocket. "I shouldn't be helping you, but I feel sorry for you, it is most unfair that you are being held. I can not tell you where we are because they would kill both of us, but just know that it will take a lot for someone to find you." He said, his eyes locked on mine like he was trying to tell me something more. "Please make your call fast, it can't be for long. They will notice I am missing."
"Thank you." I said as I took the phone from his hand, dialing the number from my memory.
