End of Chapter 12
Carlisle walked up to the front desk, the small woman behind the counter blushing as she thought about how attractive he was.
"We'd like to check in please?" He said as he smiled at her.
"And your name, please?"
"Bauer."
"Oh, Mr. Bauer...yes. We have four rooms held for you." She said, surprised as Carlisle took out a gold credit card and handed it to her.
"Thank you, here are your room keys." She said as she took four key cards and programed them quickly.
Carlisle took the cards, handing one to Emmett, Jasper, myself and slipped one into his pocket. The bell boy was rolling our bags into a cart as the front desk girl ran around the desk, holding something in her arms.
"Mr. Bauer, this came for you a hour ago." She said as she handed Carlisle a package.
Carlisle looked at me, his thoughts full of fear as he smiled down at the girl....fishing money out of his pocket to tip her.
"We will open this upstairs." He said to all of us. "Shall we meet in our room?"
Chapter 13
Everyone's thoughts were about what was in the package, no one wanting to go to their own rooms, but rather go to Carlisle's and Esme's room and find out what was inside the box.
The elevator door opened and we all walked down the hallway, heading to our rooms. I was the first to stop at my room, sliding the room key into the slot, turning the handle as the little light turned green.
I walked into the room, noticing that it was a suite. There was a small room with a couch, two chairs and a armoure that held a television. Through the french doors was the bedroom with a king sized bed, and a large bathroom.
I walked back through the french doors, opening the curtains to see that I had a view that looked out at the sea. The water looking almost like a painting as the colors swirled around.
I heard Emmett and Rosalie out side the door, arguing over who had to knock on my door. I turned, running and pulling the door open before they could decide who would have to knock.
"Yes?" I asked.
"Are you coming??" Emmett asked as he thought about the box and how much it was driving him nuts NOT to know what was in it.
"Come on." Rosalie said as she grabbed my arm, pulling me along as we walked all the way down to the last room in the hallway.
Emmett raised his hand to knock as the door opening to reveal Jasper standing in the doorway. "It's about time." He said as he looked at the box that was sitting on the coffee table.
"Sorry to keep you waiting." I said bitterly as I walked over and sat on the floor next to Alice's feet.
"Don't take it out on them." Alice thought as she put her hand on my shoulder.
"I know, I'm just sick of all of this." I thought back as I raised my hand and put it on top of hers.
"We all are, we all want her back. But we have to play along until we find her...and we will find her Edward." She thought.
"I know, we have to. I can't be without her, I can't........" I said as I lowered my head, my mind spiraling into the depression that I felt when I thought I had lost her before.
"EDWARD!!!" Alice screamed, her face next to mine, looking at something that was not my face.
"Alice?" Carlisle asked as he walked into the room.
I raised my hands, putting them on her face as I sifted through her thoughts until I found what had scared her so much.
I saw myself lost, running through what looked like a castle. My mouth open as I screamed Bella's name, hearing her but not being able to find her. I saw the rest of my family fighting, fighting for their lives as I ran trying to find Bella. I rounded a corner, her voice getting louder as I got closer...just at that same time a man with brown curly hair walked out of a door way, a sword in his hand.
The vision ended there as Alice gasped for breath, her eyes wide in horror. She pulled back, ignoring everyone else in the room as she reached forward, grabbing my shoulders.
"You will NOT go off alone." She said.
"Alice." I said, still horrified by what I had seen.
"Edward, promise me." She said as she knelt so that her eyes were even with mine.
"Alice." I said again, not wanting to promise her something I couldn't fulfill.
"Will someone tell me what the hell is going on?" Emmett asked as he came to stand by us.
"Emmett." Carlisle said, his thoughts much the same as what Emmett had just said.
"Alice?" Esme asked.
"Promise me Edward." She said again, ignoring everyone else in the room.
"I promise." I said quietly as I wondered if I would keep that promise.
"Someone please tell me what is going on." Carlisle said.
"I saw all of us fighting in....a castle?" Alice said. "Edward ran ahead alone, looking for Bella and came across a man with a sword."
Esme gasped quietly from the back of the room, I turned my eyes slowly to see her leaning against the wall, her hand over her mouth.
"I made him promise me not to go alone, not to go without one of us." Alice continued.
"What happened then, Alice?" Jasper asked.
"I don't know, I'm not sure and I don't want to look. Please don't ask me to look." She said as she shook her head.
"Alice, should we go back to our room?" Jasper asked as he walked over, kneeling next to her.
"The package." She said softly, her whole body shaking from the vision.
"The package will wait a hour or two until we all calm down." Esme said as she stepped away from the wall, coming to kneel next to me.
"Edward." She said as she hugged me, resting her head against my shoulder.
"We will meet back here in a hour, everyone please go to your rooms." Carlisle said.
Jasper picked up Alice, turning and walked out of the door without looking back. I knew that he would be able to calm her down, get her to think rationally about everything.
Emmett and Rosalie left in a huff, because both of them wanted to know what was in the box and mad because now they had to wait.
I stood up, and started walking to the door. Carlisle grabbed my shoulder and shook his head. "Please stay, please talk to us." He asked.
"Carlisle, I..." I said as I turned to the door again.
"Edward, please stay...for me? We can open the box, just the three of us if you want. I might help find Bella faster." Esme said, knowing exactly what to say to get me to stay.
"Esme." Carlisle said, knowing that everyone else would be mad if we opened it without them.
"Carlisle, if it keeps him here I am willing to deal with the others." She said as she steered me back to the couch across from the present.
She picked it up, handing it to me. "Please open it so that we can find your Bella." She said.
Thanks all :)
