End of Chapter 18
Jasper wrapped his arms around her tightly, kissing the top of her head. "No one blames you, you have helped so much with this." He said as he kissed her again.
"He's right Alice, we know she's in a large room..and that there are people feeding her, there was a huge pile of food in the corner." I said as I moved to sit on the other side of her.
"But now we know that she is with vampires." She said sadly.
"Yes we do, that helps our search." I said. "Jasper, could you get the paper and pencil please?" I asked.
He kissed the top of her head again before he stood up, walking over to grab the paper and pencil off the floor. He rushed back, handing Alice the notepad, and a sharpened pencil.
"Please, Alice. Please draw where she is." I begged.
She closed her eyes, focusing as she began to draw the bedroom where Bella was being held. There was a large bed in the middle of the room, it's four posts standing up straight with netting strung between them. There was a door that could be either a closet or a bathroom, a dresser, a dressing table, a table that was full of different foods. The last thing she drew was Bella, sitting on the edge of the bed...her eyes wide in fear...and a shadow.
Chapter 19
We all sat in the room, staring at the picture that Alice held in her lap. I couldn't stop looking at Bella's face, Alice's drawing was so intricate that I could see the tears and the fear on her face.
"Alice," I said softly as I watched her face as she stared at the picture. "Alice, thank you."
"Don't thank me Edward, this is not helping anything...every time I close my eyes all I can see is how afraid she was." She said softly.
There was a knock on the door, and even through the thick metal I could hear Esme's thoughts. She was wondering what the three of us had been talking about, if I was alright...where Bella was.
"Come in Esme." I said as Alice and Jasper turned to watch her walk into the room.
"We're docking, Carlisle thinks that we should hunt before going to the coast." She said, watching Jasper closely.
"I agree, it would be helpful." I said as I smiled at her.
"Alice, is this where she is?" Esme asked as she walked over and looked at the drawingin Alice's lap, her eyes widening as she saw Bella sitting on the bed and the woman walking towards her. "Who is this person?" Esme asked as she pointed at the shadow.
"We don't know." I said softly.
"If I didn't know better, I would think that this woman," She said as she pointed at the woman who was stalking towards Bella. "I would think that Bella's injury was drawing her...making her hunger."
"That's what we thought...what we think." Alice said as she pointed to the shadow. "Vampires." She said softly.
"Oh, poor Bella. She must be so scared. We have to find her, we have to get her out." She said, stating the obvious.
"We need to get off this boat, let's go find the others." I said as I stood up, grabbing my bag as I walked out the door.
I went upstairs to the deck to find everyone else standing on the deck, watching as we pulled into the harbor. Emmett and Rosalie stood hand in hand, watching as we got closer to land. I walke dup next to Emmett, who reached out a hand and gently slapped me on the back.
"We will find her, you know." He said as he smiled at me.
"We have to hurry, it's our kind that has Bella." I said as the boat docked.
"You are sure it's our kind?" Carlisle asked, the stars lighting up the entire deck.
"Positive." I said as the captain announced that we could now leave the boat and thanked us for our traveling.
We all got off the boat, releaved that our feet were once again on dry land. We all started following Carlisle as he led the way to taxi's that were waiting for anyone to use them.
"Where to?" The driver asked as he opened the trunk on the first car.
"Queensland please." Carlisle said as he climbed into the car.
No one said a word as we drove to the coast, the moon lighting our way as we drove. The driver tried a few times to speak to us, to find out why were were in Australia...but gave up because none of us would answer his questions.
He dropped us off at a hotel that was directly across the street from the ocean. We all got settled as we realized that we only had about 2 hours before the sun rose.
I wasn't in the mood to hunt, I just wanted to get the clue and go wherever I had to to find Bella...but Carlisle reasoned with me that I needed to hunt before we could continue. I didn't want to but I eventually gave in, laughing as Emmett walked into the room..his thoughts only about kangeroo's.
"Let's eat before we continue our search." I said inbetween laughs.
Everyone tried to figure out what had me laughing, but all of them realized that the sun would rise soon...so we all went out hunting.
There was a small animal reserve just outside of town that held animals that most of us had never seen. Emmett laughed as he saw a kangaroo hop off to safety...taking it down and draining it as he pouted because it didn't put up a fight.
The rest of us fed off of either Dingo's, deer, or anything we could take down. Once we were all engorged with enough blood to stop our thirst for a few days, we all made our way to the coast.
We all stood, bathed in the moonlight as we watched the area where the waves crashed over the reef. I was about to take a step into the water when Alice gasped, causing me to turn and look at her.....my mind trying to catch up with her vision.
SO here we go...let's see what happens next :)
