End of Chapter 1
***Edward's POV***
I laid back against the seat, my lungs burning from the screaming. I rest my head against the headrest and I focused on Gabriel and Jane's thoughts. I knew that Gabriel was proud of himself that he could make me scream, that he could control me still after all these years.
I tried to keep myself from telling him off, from kicking the door open and jumping out. I knew that if I tried they would only bring me back, the pain and torture would be twice as bad as it had been so far. I did my best not to think about that, focusing on Jane's thoughts in the front seat.
She was so proud of herself, that she had managed to take me...even if it was her plan to take Bella. She was anxious to get back to Alec, her twin whom she hadn't been separated from in almost 60 years. She knew that he was going to be disappointed that she didn't get Bella, but when he saw that I was with...he would be ecstatic.
She was also thinking about how my family would be responding to knowing I was gone. A thought that I was doing by best to push to the back until her thoughts brought them crashing back to the front. I was left wondering where they all were? What were they doing? Were Emmett and Jasper alright...and Bella, my sweet, love. How was she taking all of this news, the news that she was safe but I had been taken?
Chapter 3
"So..how long?" Jane asked as she glared at me, knowing I had been listening to her thoughts.
"Honestly...I don't know." I said as the faces of my family flashing through my mind, the final one..Bella's staying the longest. Her chocolate brown eyes staring a hole into mine. I blinked three times before her face faded away, leaving me alone again in the car.
"Awww look he's sad." Gabriel said as he pouted at me.
I growled quietly, Jane glaring at me before turning her glare to Gabriel.
"Knock it off, YOU failed me." She said as she glared at him. "This will be brought up when we get back, believe me on this Gabriel, you will never fail me again."
Gabriel flushed if it's possible, his skin fading a bit. His thoughts full of what his punishment would be and if there would be any way to get the focus back on me so that this could be forgotten.
"Jane, where are we going?" I asked, bored with Gabriel's thoughts.
"Away, you will stop asking." She said as she smiled and turned her powers on me again, instantly making me wish I were dead.
I honestly lost track of time for a while, when I came back into my own thoughts I realized I was once again blinded, a bag over my head. I listened to the sounds around me, noticing that they were speaking Zulu. From that I figured that we were somewhere in South Africa, I assumed that it would be best in my interest if I kept that information to myself.
I was shoved and pulled through a hallway, people yelling different things at us as we walked through. I was able to pick out a few voices, one yelling at us to go and buy his jewelry, that it was the finest that we would find in all of Africa. Another a female voice yelled at Gabriel, offering him a night he wouldn't forget (which made me laugh slightly, because he thought about it but then saw the look Jane was giving him and decided he should just keep his focus.)
I felt a hand on my back, and before I could counter I was knocked into a wall, a loud slam let me know that they had closed me in. I reached up, ripping the hood off my head as I looked around. I was in what looked like a bedroom, except for the fact that there were no windows. A dull red light hung from the ceiling, casting a glow around the room. I walked around, trying the door and walking the edge of the room, looking for weak spots and finding none. I knew that they had made sure that there would be no way for me to get out.
I walked over and sat against the wall, trying to calm myself down so that I could figure out a way to get out. I imagined what my family must be doing, hoping that they would find a way..even if it took drugging her to get her back to Charlie. I knew that once she found out about me that she would do everything in her power to find me, and that was the last thing they could allow. I wanted nothing more then to be with her, to hold her to apologize for scaring her. To confess to her what I was feeling the love that I had for her and how I never wanted to be away from her another day, as long as I lived.
I was lost in my own mind, thinking of confessing my undying love that I didn't notice someone opening the door until it was cracked. I looked up to see Gabriel standing in the door way, a smile I knew was no good spread across his face.
"I brought you dinner." He said as he grinned.
"I'm not hungry." I said, my throat burning at the idea of having something to eat. I hadn't realized how long it had been since I had ate, I was so afraid to leave Bella that I ignored my own hunger.
"Well, you will need your strength. Believe me, you will be tested soon." He said, his thoughts full of different things I may face, but each of them passed too fast so that I could catch nothing. "Here you go."
Gabriel reached an arm around him and pushed something into the room before he slammed the door, his laugh echoing throughout the room. I pushed my back against the wall, holding my breath as I saw a small, brown haired woman stand up and look at me. Her eyes so full of fear, her thoughts knowing what I was and what she thought was going to happen.
