End of Chapter 11
***Emmett's POV***
Rosalie grinned evilly as she raised up on her toes so that she could kiss me. I tried my best to keep my thoughts on Edward and what was going on with him, but her hands slid up the back of my shirt against my shoulders...making my mind go blank except for Rosalie in my arms. I picked her up in my arms and was about to move both of us to the bed when her phone and mine both began to ring, a growl escaping Rose's lips.
"Leave it." She growled.
I was just about to agree with her when both phones quit ringing, then started ringing again in unison. It quickly became obvious that someone was trying to get our attention. I sighed as I set her down, doing my best to ignore her pouting face as I went to answer my phone.
"This better be important." I said as I answered the call.
"It is, it's Edward...." Carlisle said before his phone died, leaving us both in suspense.
Chapter 12
***Jasper's POV***
"Jazz, talk to me." Alice said as Edward stomped like a three year old back up to the house.
I was lost in my own mind, wondering if I had gone too far by thinking those things when I knew Edward was listening to my thoughts. Yet, I couldn't help but think those things again as I watched 'the perfect Edward' stomp like a baby up to the house...so that Carlisle could tell him that everything was perfect and make him feel better...I'm sure he would tell Carlisle everything about what happened at school today and because of that he would act different around me for the next few days. Esme would be looking at me with pity filled eyes, wondering if we would have to move again and leave the house she loved so much.
"Jazz!" Alice said as she shook my shoulders.
"What?" I asked, my tone was too harsh to use with her, but I didn't realize it until it was too late.
"What is happening to you?" Alice asked as she reached out and placed her tiny hand on my face.
The emotions coming off of her were enough to make me realize how I was behaving. She was concerned, worried...and slightly frightened. I had swore to her in the past that I would NEVER frighten her...and yet, here she was standing in front of me..scared of me.
"I'm sorry." I said as I looked at the ground and shook my head in shame. "I just get sick of him always listening in."
"He gets sick of it too, he tries to only say something when he has to."
"So you think that I was going to mess up too?" I asked, my feelings hurt because my wife was siding with Edward instead of me.
"No, Jazz." She said as she removed her hand from my face and looked shocked.
"I...I can't say anything right." I said as I got more and more mad at myself.
Alice looked up at the house, then her eyes went blank like they do when she has a vision. All of my petty thoughts were instantly forgotten as I moved up and wrapped my arms around her, supporting her. I whispered my apologies to her as I held her, waiting for her to return to me and tell me what she saw.
It was a few minutes (which was unusual) before she blinked, her entire body frozen in pure fear. She turned and stared at the house for a second before she turned and looked at me...the fear in her eyes enough to make me defensive.
"What is it?" I asked as I looked to the woods.
"Edward." She whispered.
Great...here we go again. More drama with the perfect Edward...I wonder what he was getting into now, and if...
"Jazz...he's gone." Alice whispered, breaking me out of my hateful thoughts. "He...he left us. I can't see him...I don't know...I'm so scared." She said as her legs went weak and she collapsed in my arms.
I scooped her into my arms and took off to the house as I watched her face transform from fear to loss....a loss that I helped contribute to...no that I was responsible for.
