Lemonade Mouth Question

Is this bad?

Last week on Tuesday, I was watching Lemonade Mouth for the first time. In the beginning, when I saw Charlie have a crush on Mo, I knew they were perfect for each other. But, when he told her he liked her, and she rejected, I got really...emotional. AND when they met other people I got even more...emotional! I cried myself to sleep that night. Do you think that's bad?

I don't think it's bad at all! I had a the same reaction, albeit on a smaller scale! lol.

But anyways, to be honest the whole movie itself was really insincere. I think the only positive message it gave was to stand up for your freedom of self-expression (what Stella was advocating for and then everyone else in the end when they hopped the bandwagon) and even that wasn't very elaborated upon . But, everyone was kind of just doing it because they just wanted to (which is great, too!) I also think throwing in the incarceration of Olivia's father was a great plot point and I adore the scene with Wen and Olivia, where Olivia tells him to appreciate his family because there are others that are worse off (although the acting was terrible on Bridget Mendel's and Adam Hick's part)- it was the best written part of the movie, the rest of the movie's dialogue was average DCOM grade script but, man that part was pretty good in regular standards.

It was extremely unrealistic (their rise to fame was way too quick even for an instant star with no viral exposure- as far as we know) but, I have to say it was pretty daring for disney to keep Mo and Charlie apart. I think it was very creative, unpredictable and well, realistic. She had a longer history with her boyfriend and in all honesty, she never knew Charlie before so, in a way it was refreshingly averting superficiality (as far as we know, Charlie only liked her for her looks since they never spoke before).

To get to the bottom of it: No, of course it's not bad to cry over a movie, even if it was a DCOM movie like Lemonade Mouth which was hardly profound, because it could've reminded you of your own issues, maybe someone else's, or, if it really is about Mo and Charlie, than maybe you interpreted their relationship in a profound fashion.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. :)
