If I remember correctly, Ex-husband was sexually abusing her, and the courts refused to block his visitation or something, so she took her and gave her to an underground community and got arrested and refused to tell them where she was. I don't remember the ending, but I think she went to prison. I would have watched it between 94 and 04 but could have been an older movie seen on repeat.
