Lost Question

Season 4

Ok, so im trying to catch up to season 5 in lost, and right now im currently on season 4 ep "The Shape of Things to Come" and i was really hoping someone could explain some really confusing things to me. Like why does Ben not want the people on the boat to find the island and why do the people on the boat want Ben, and want to then kill everyone after they get him?

I think they explained this all in the show before, but it still is just really confusing me XD

ok im not the best at explaining but here we go..
oh by the way most of this is assumed not actually mentioned in the series ( in season 4)

Ben doesnt want the people on the boat to find him because the people on the boat work for Charles Widmore who used to be an other but you will find that put in season five. Anyway charles Widmore has payed these men and women on the freightor to find Benjamin Linus probably because Ben stole something from him but im not quite sure about that....ummm i think they wanted to kill evry one else on the island so 1. there wouldnt be people interfering with their work and 2. to make sure no one else finds the island. anyway all i know is that more will be answered in season five.

Hoped i helped!!! :D

Ben doesn't want the people on the frieghter coming to The Island, because they are Widmore's men.

Widmore was a former leader of The Others, who was exiled because he broke the rules, such as having a child (Penny) with an outsider. Widmore wanted to find the Island and reclaim his position in order to "protect" it from Ben. He believes if he extracts Ben from The Island, it could be handed back to him, or someone more sensible.

The mercernary team, Keamy & co, are not under Widmore's instructions to kill everyone, Ben is just aware that they could do.
