The ending was super sucky. I had to read 2 times so I understood what was happening. I was super pissed at Jace even tho I know he was under sum sort of spell. My bff got mad at me cuz I was screaming at her how pissed i was. I have to wait a whole year till i get 2 read the next one. Oh well. It's worth the wait :)

I liked CoFA. I knew the ending was going to have to be an emotional cliff-hanger: like Clary said, the fans wanted the series to continue and good books don't run on hugs and rainbows. And I think Clary did an awesome job of keeping the series going without making it seemed forced.

The only real problem I had was that Alec seemed OoC to me. He was just too... pouty. And Magnus calling Alec 'Alexander' the whole time. It seemed way to patronizing and formal -- especially since he called him 'Alec' in the other books.

Jace: is that a coatrack?
Kyle: if you were a vampire this would've been more useful.
Jace: yes you know or just someone with a lot of coats.

To be honest, I felt like this book was it's own. More of a spin-off to the original trilogy. I was more than satisfied with City of Glass being the final book and was happy with how everything ended. This just felt like someone's fanfic; someone's wishful thinking of what could possibly happen next in this fantastic series. And it was rather disappointing. I usually love Jace, like most fans, but he annoyed the shit out of me in this book--so full of self-hatred. Not to mention there wasn't nearly enough of Alec and/or Magnus. And then there was the fact that this was mainly from Simon's POV. It's not that I hate Simon...he's just a very dull character who complains about his life the entire time.
