I don't really watch television that much. However, I really got into Cage the Elephant by the first Borderland's opening sequence. (It played the single 'Ain't No Rest for the Wicked')
Yeah, I think it can reach a broader audience if it's a good TV show and the constant repetition might actually help in making the song more popular. As they say, with some songs the more you hear, the more you will like them.
