TORONTO — A musical drama starring Natalie Portman and a thriller with Chloe Grace Moretz and Isabelle Huppert have been added to the Toronto International Film Festival.
Organizers say Brady Corbet\'s "Vox Lux," in which Portman plays a pop star in a cast that also includes Jude Law, will screen at TIFF after making its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival.
Meanwhile, Huppert and Moretz play two women whose unlikely friendship takes a dark turn in Neil Jordan\'s "Greta," which will make its world premiere at TIFF.
The festival has also announced the lineup for its Speaker Series, which will include a Q-and-A with actor-director Emilio Estevez about his new film "The Public."
Other new festival announcements include the unveiling of the Discovery lineup, featuring 46 films from 37 different countries.
Forty-eight per cent of the Discovery titles were directed by women, including the Chinese film "The Crossing" by Bai Xue, which will open the Discovery program.
Festival organizers have also unveiled details of the Share Her Journey Rally planned for the morning of Sept. 8.
Speakers scheduled for the event include Dr. Stacy L. Smith, founder and director of the USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative, and actors Amanda Brugel and Mia Kirshner.
Meanwhile, previously announced Platform Prize juror Margarethe von Trotta has had to bow out of her duties due to another commitment that\'s cropped up.
That commitment is the honour as the recipient of the city of Frankfurt\'s Theodor Adorno Prize.
The festival says Indian–American director Mira Nair will take von Trotta\'s place as a Platform Prize juror.
