HELLO :) see? i told you guys i would have it up by tonight! yay me! *claps franticly*
Disclaimer: I do not own Percy Jackson and The Olympians, stop rubbing it in my face why don't ya?
20, ENJOY <3
My shoes sank into the mud and I bet if I took them off there would be more mud in them than on the ground. Moss flew into our faces as we walked and I was getting tired. I felt bad for snapping at Percy, I knew he was just trying to help and all I just hated knowing that the gods were observing us, and I haven’t been proving myself very well. And if Percy died, well beside the fact that I would be pretty sad he’d be gone (don’t tell him I said that) it would mean the quest would be over.
“Look, I…” I finally built up the courage to form some kind of apology for Percy. “I appreciate your coming back for us, okay? That was really brave.”
“We’re a team right?”
I smiled a bit at the word team. I felt like being on those adventures with Luke, Thaila, and Grover again. Just like old times.
“It’s just that if you died… aside from the fact that it would really suck for you, it would mean the quest is over. This may be my only chance to see the real world.”
Rain stopped pounding onto my shoulders like bullets and I could walk without it hurting. I glanced over at Percy a few times, his hair was just a little bit over his eyebrows and it was almost completely covered in mud. He had a look on his face that reminded me so much of a face expression Thaila would have, he reminded me of her so much. It was scary.
“You haven’t left Camp Half-Blood since you were seven?” He asked.
“No… only on short field trips. My dad-.”
“The history professor.”
“Yeah. It didn’t work out for me living at home. I mean, Camp Half-Blood is my home…” I never touched this subject much. It never seemed like anyone cared. Knowing that Percy wanted to know, well… it felt good. “At camp you train and train. And that all cool and everything, but the real world is where monsters are. That’s where you learn if you’re any good or not.”
I looked down at the ground and sighed. I was out here, in the real world and I hated disappointing myself like this. I wasn’t proving myself very well at all.
“You’re pretty good with that knife,” Percy said looking at me.
“You think so?”
“Anybody who can piggy-back ride a Fury is okay by me.”
I smiled, as much as Percy was annoying and stubborn; he just made my confidence rate go up 200%. Want me to say it? Fine, he’s a good guy and its nice being on this quest with him. There, but don’t make me say it again or I’ll use this knife on you.
DID U LIKE IT? I already started the next chapter so i think ill put two up this week. YAY! please comment and become a fan. I <3 u all
