How is Peter Pan real?

I'm fascinated by this subculture. I believe myself, but in a fun fantastical childlike way. I won't be disapointed if nothing comes of it. It's just nice to think he's looking out for me. I don't understand worshiping Peter though. He's more like a friend. How is it that you see it though? Where is neverland? Is it in an alternate deminsion? Peter has to be a kind of fair folk, like Tink and the mermiads. I just love the idea of it. I'm not sure how alive this belief still is, but I'd love to conect with some believers.
