Drum Help Needed

So, we've had Rock Band for about a year and a half, and about a month ago, just out of the blue, the drums started acting up. They work fine for like half a song, but then the red lights start flashing and they don't work. We've tried experimenting with them for a while now, but nothing works. Does anyone know why it's doing this and what should be done?
