I don't think so, though he probably enjoyed certain aspects of it like the subjects he was teaching as well as being an authority figure and having power over his students. Actually teaching? No, he didn't enjoy or want to do that.

I have mixed feelings about it. I think that over the years, yes, there were times when he did like it, when there were students who actually wanted to learn from him. But those times were likely few and far between.

It was, however, far better than the alternatives.

Maybe if he had come to it on his own without service two different masters......
