There was a climbing wall on one side of the building, and an indoor jumping bungee bridge. There were virtual-reality suits with working laser guns. And hundreds of video games, each the size of a widescreen TV.
"Oh man." Leo, Conner and Travis said breathlessly, imagining the place.
Piper raised an eyebrow.
"I am going there!" Leo exclaimed, which led to Piper coolly replying with "You know Leo, we're here, in New York, right now, and the hotel is in Las Vegas," she said, putting emphasis on the last two words.
"Whatever. It's basically paradise on Earth!"
Basically, ou name it, they had it. There were a few other kids playing, but not that many. No waiting for any of the games.
"SWEET!"
There were waitresses and snack bars all around, serving every kind of food you could imagine.
"I can smell it. All. That. FOOOOOD."
"Hey!" A bellhop said. At least I guessed he was a bellhop. He wore a white-and-yellow Hawaiian shirt with lotus designs, shorts and flip-flops. "Welcome to the Lotus Casino. Here's your room key."
"Just like that?" Jason asked.
"I have a bad feeling about this..." Piper muttered.
I stammered, "Um, but..."
"Way to go, Prissy."
"Really, Clarisse, why I remember a time when you were stammering too.....Hmm, was it during capture the flag, or was it during..?" Percy said, smirking.
"JUst YOU WAIT!"
"I am."
Long story short, Percy was entrusted with the task of cleaning, and it took everybody else to control Clarisse.
"Read." Annabeth ordered calmly, as if World War III hadn't broken out five minutes ago.
"No, no," he said, laughing. "The bill's taken care of. No extra charges, no tips. Just go on up to the top floor, room 4001. If you need anything, like extra bubbles for the hot tub, or skeet targets for the shooting range, or whatever, just call the front desk. Here are your LotusCash cards. They work in the restaurants and on all the games and rides. He handed us aeach a green plastic card."
"That went 0 to 100 real quick." Will commented, making everyone laugh or chuckle.
I knew there must be some mistake. Obviously he thought we were some millionaire's kids. But I took the card and said, "How much is on here?"
"Yeah, I've always wondered where they had gotten all that money from..", Grover asked no one in particular.
His eyebrows knitted together. "What do you mean?"
"I mean, when does it run out of cash?"
He laughed. "Oh, you're making a joke. Hey, that's cool."

"There are two lies in this statement." Thalia pointed out. "One, Jackson does not know how to make jokes. Two, his so called 'jokes' are not cool. They make you wanna murder whoever came up with them."
"We are not on last name basis, Thals." Percy said.
"That's the only thing you care about?"
"Yeah...I guess, unless you'd insult my joke making skills."
Annabeth smacked her forehead in desperation.

Enjoy your stay."
"How could you not?" A Roman kid questioned.
"Just wait and watch." Annabeth replied.
We took the elevator upstairs and checked out our room. It was a suite with three separate bedrooms and a bar stocked with candy, sodas and crisps.
"Didn't they have any furniture for Grover?" Nico questioned.
"Hey! I only eat furniture when I'm nervous."
"But how can you eat furniture?"
"It's a vegetable."
"Just like aluminum cans and cheese enchiladas?"
"Shut up."
A hotline to room service. Fluffy towels and waterbeds with feather pillows. A big screen television with satellite and high-speed Internet.
"Heaven." Piper said, her voice barely audible.
"Tumblr." Annabeth whispered.
"Netflix." Connor started.
"All." Rachel added.
"Day." Reyna concluded.
This earned her some stares and glances.
"What? Just because I'm a praetor doesn't mean I can't binge watch Netflix and wonder what I'm doing with my life as the next episode loads."
Frank shrugged.
The balcony had it's own hot tub and, sure enough, there was a skeet-shooting machine and a shotgun, so you could launch clay pigeons right out over the Lav Vegas skyline and plug them with your gun. I didn't see how that could be legal,
"It is."
but I thought it was pretty cool. The view over the strip and the desert was amazing, though I'd doubted we'd ever have time to look at the view with a room like this.
Will whistled. "What a sweet suite."
"Was that a pun?" Katie asked.
"Mayb-"
"Well, it isn't Nobel Pun Prize worthy.'' Conner cut in.
"I wouldn't want it to be."
"Read, please." Rachel pleaded.
"Oh goodeness," Annabeth said.
"Really, Annabeth?" "Who says oh, goodness?"
"It is with great sorrow im my heart that I realize thou do."
"Nope. Nope." Annabeth ordered.
"This place is..."
"Sweet," Grover said. "Absolutely sweet."
There were clothes in the closet, and they fitted me."

"HOW? WHAT WITCHCRAFT?"
"WITCHCRAFT IS GOOD!"
"WHAT?"
"I WANNA BE A WITCH AND GO TO HOGWARTS!"
"YOU CAN'T. YOU'RE 12."
Gasps were heard all around.
"YOU MONSTER! YOU CRUSHED ALL MY HOPES AND DREAMS!
I frowned, thinking that this was a little strange."
"That's all you did?" Hazel asked with wide eyes. "That is literally a indication that something is wrong."
"Well, we were 12 and dumb."
I threw Ares' backpack in the trash can. Wouldn't need that any more. When we left, I could just charge a new one at the hotel store.
I took a shower, which felt awesome after a week of grimy travel. I changed clothes, ate a bag of crisps, drank three Cokes and came out feeling better than I had in a long time. In the back of my mind, some small problem kept naging me. I'd had a dream or something... I needed to talk to my friends. But I was sure it could wait.

"Yeah, nothing much. Just a dream in which you saw this evil immortal and some evil demigod whose voice sounded familiar in a pit. Nothing much." Miranda said, casually examining her nails.
"I'm betting 20 bucks that the demigod in Percy's dream is the actual thief." Conner said.
"I'll bet 30 that you're wrong.' Octavian countered.
"You're on!"
I came out of the bedroom and found that Annabeth and Grover had also showered and changed clothes. Grover was eating crisps to his heart's content, while Annabeth crancked up the National Geographic Channel.
"All those channels," Conner said.
"Hundreds of them," Travis added.
"And you put that on. Are you"
"Insane?" Dakota asked.
"Weird?" Travis questioned.
"Socially unstable?"
"Hungry?" said Leo.
"First of all, Leo?" Annabeth said, raising one eyebrow.

Hey guys!

So, just so everyone is clear, just because I am writing this does not mean I am coming back.

I just re-read the entire Heroes of Olympus series and I wanted to check in to see how some of my old writing was doing. I can honestly say that its nice to see how well my stories are still doing. Keep up the good work guys. You've all done an excellent job on this forum.

Love you all and remember to always write.
