Hello!
Before you start reading, I'd like to make clarifications.
1. I am totally ignoring the cover, the descriptions on the back and there will be no extraordinary mention to the great prophecy.
2. I haven't read the book like the rest of you (sigh) so I'm going on guesses for parents and such
3. Chapter 1 isn't that great, so chapter 2 is there as well
4. This week its rated YC, but later on there will be violence (what would Percy J be without swords?) but no adults theme or swearing.
5.Enjoy :)

Leo gets flying-chariot sick
I didn’t understand what was happening, which I hated.
-Guys, let’s go before they get the doors open! The girl, Annabeth, rushed.
-What’s with the flying horses? Jason asked.
-I told you we’ll explain at camp! Now hurry! Butch said.
-How can that thing be solid? Jason asked.
-It is, the chariot is well built, the bolt on the back is a little insecure but we should be okay for another 12 days. Leo said. I turned at him.
-How do you know that? I asked. Leo frowned and shrugged. He ran over to join Annabeth in the chariot.
-Come on. I told Jason. I took his hand, but he wouldn’t budge.
-You are coming. I said. From there he followed me.
-It was nice of Apollo to lend us the chariot. Butch commented.
-Apollo didn’t have a choice. Hold on tight, it’ll be ruff. Annabeth said. I grabbed on the side of the chariot. The fact there was no back wall on it didn’t strike courage in my heart, but I had no choice.
-YAH! Annabeth said. The four horses galloped down the skywalk, like a runway and took off.
The wind was blowing my hair everywhere, and the moment the skywalk was out of sight, Leo threw up over the side.
-You okay? Butch yelled over the howling wind. Leo nodded, looking clammy.
I lost track for how long he flew. I had one hand on the railing and one hand in Leo’s. I trusted this guy in heights now, whether he was my boyfriend or not.
It wasn’t a comfortable ride. With the chilling wind, the awkward silence, throwing up every 5 minutes and the fact we were thousands of feet above the ground… I’d been on better buses then this.
Night was falling when we finally landed. We were on a tall hill. The first thing I noticed was, there was no snow.
-Butch, we’re in December, why is there no snow? Jason asked.
-Mr D doesn’t like snow anymore. Not since somebody nailed him with a snowball. Besides, if Percy were to come back, he’s come by the sea, which would suck if it was freezed over. He said.
When Butch lit a match I saw clearer what we were surrounded by. Besides us was this enormous pine tree. It was greener then anything I’d ever seen and a pile of golden wool was on one of its branches. A four story house with an eagle wind pointer, a wrap-around porch and what looked like a blue paintjob was standing tall. There was a beach covering the horizon, a field full of big and juicy-looking strawberries and two rectangles made of cabins in another end. I couldn’t make them out except for one that glowed silver. A few other buildings were here and there, but nothing I could see. Waves of a beach were slamming themselves on a beach. Except these waves were taller then me and they kept coming and coming. Leo jumped over the edge of the chariot and barfed one final time.
-You don’t do Pegasus. Butch told him.
-I guess I don’t. Leo said.
-Common. The sooner I get back to the cabin, the better. Annabeth grumbled. We filed out of the chariot. I noticed Annabeth was crying. Tears were trickling down her cheeks as she pulled away from Butch, Jason, Leo and I and walked towards the house.
-She really doesn’t like us. Jason said.
-She expected to find Percy so bad. But she’s a good person. Butch assured. We left it at that and went for the blue house.
Lightened by the industrial lighting on the porch was a man with a brown beard and long hair. His eyes were brown and old. His legs were covered by a blanket and he was standing on a mechanical wheelchair.
-Hello Butch. And Annabeth. The man said. Annabeth said hi and went jogging towards the cabins, hiding her face.
-What..? The man started.
-He wasn’t there. Butch finished.
-Oh. I though he might still be with the Pegasus. Chiron said. He looked disappointed, like we weren’t good enough. Who was this Percy guy? Why was he so important?
-You must be Piper Ross. And Leo Valdez. And Jason! Good to see at least you made it. He told us.
-Made it from what? Jason said.
-The quest of course! We were scared that nobody would have any idea where Percy and
-Jason, what’s my name?
-I don’t know. I’m really sorry, I just… don’t. The man frowned.
-I’m Chiron. Jason, you know me since you’re twelve. The look on Jason’s face inspired no confidence. I turned to Butch and Chiron.
-We’re at your camp-place now, there’s no monsters, you owe us an explanation. I told Butch.
-You’re right. But I’ve got to get back to my cabin. Indigo, Saffy and Tory’ll want to know. Before we could say anything, he handed Leo the match (not burned out yet), which is not a great idea, and jogged off.
-Well, I’m glad you three got to camp safely. Chiron said.
-Don’t change subjects. We want to know what’s going on. And can’t we go inside? Leo asked.
-I’m afraid not. It’s safer outside then in there” Chiron said. For some reason, the tsunami-material waves and lightning all around us didn’t convince me, but something in Chiron’s eyes told me he was being truthful.
-So yes. I’ll explain…
Chapter 4
JASON
I dream of I don’t remember
I got tackle-hugged by a girl I didn’t know as soon as I stepped in the cabin Chiron had shown me. I noticed the temperature change, it had gotten colder, but I was strangely comfortable.
-Jason, Jason, I knew you’d come back, I told them you weren’t dead!
-Umm, who are you? I asked. She let go, took a step-back and looked at me frowning.
-I’m Laurel. Laurel White, your sister. Duh. She had blond hair that nearly touched the floor and icy blue eyes and thin eyebrows, like me. She was about 13 and she was wearing a helmet and breastplate, a sword hanging at her side. I frowned.
-Laurel, Chiron spoke up from behind me, Jason has lost a pretty big content of his memory recently.
-You… You don’t know who I am? Mum, do you remember Mum? I shook my head. Laurel frowned.
-Do you remember..?
-Laurel, that’s your name right?
-Of course it’s my name! And you’re my big brother!
-Laurel, look, I didn’t even remember my name. Laurel scruted my face as if looking for the merest sign of lying.
-You don’t remember me, Mum, you probably don’t remember who your dad is, don’t you?
-Boreas.
-You do remember!
-No he told me. I said pointing towards Chiron.
-Laurel, Jason’s had a… ruff day and a ruff chariot ride back.
-You took the flying chariot? She snickered. Sorry, go on Chiron.
-The best for him is if he went to sleep. Maybe he’ll remember something in the morning. Good night, both of you.
-Good night. Laurel said. Chiron left and closed the door. I looked around the cabin. It was nice. The walls alternated between purple and white. There were 3 bunk beds. Two of them looked like they’d been slept in. They had suitcases tucked underneath them and armour pieces on them. The cabin was lighted from glowing conch shells hanging on the walls, like lanterns. There was a mural on one wall, it seemed like the story was progressing from picture to picture. I looked at it longer and saw it was the story of Jason and the Argonauts. Jason… Could he be my namesake?
The roof of the cabin was the most interesting. It was as high as the roof of the big house except nobody could have seen it from outside. A purple needle was hanging there and was pointing to what I determined was north. Except when I looked at the inscriptions there I read more then the cardinal points.
North, South, East, West, were there, but some other inscriptions were there. Olympus, Underworld, Poseidon’s kingdom, Hyperborea, Dad’s place, Athens.
-You can read it can’t you? Laurel asked.
-The inscriptions? Of course, I can read.
-Look again. I starred back up at the ceiling. The inscriptions were in Ancient Greek.
-You can read it, which proves that you’ve been at camp Half-Blood before! Laurel said with satisfaction. I looked back up.
-How does it work? I asked pointing at the compass.
-You don’t remember? It’s a compass. Check this out. Laurel skipped to the other side of the room and pressed her had on a tiny crack on the back wall. The wall opened a little to reveal what looked like the handle of a garden hose, except bronze and bigger. Laurel turned it. The inscriptions turned until “Dad’s place” was pointing north. Woe, how did I know where North was?
The needle turned and spun until it settled on pointing north-east.
-It’s like a giant compass, except when the Hephaestus cabin were installing it, they forgot we always know where North is, so they made the compass to find any of the places up there.
-That’s cool. I said.
-Umm hum. And nobody knows how to use it but you and me. She said. She grabbed a hook from the wall and pulled until the wall was back blocking the handle.
-So Chiron gave you the crash-course?
-Yes. I’m not sure how much I understood. I said.
It was true! On the porch of the big house Chiron had told Piper, Leo and me that we were all demigods, with the wind howling, lightning going on around us and waves that could’ve been mistaken for a tsunami crashing on the beach. We could barely hear him. The Annabeth girl had run off to her cabin nearly as soon as we got here, her eyes damp, and Butch had stayed with us.
Of course they were all disappointed that the Percy Jackson kid wasn’t with us. But Chiron had told us all about demigods and western civilisation. I think I got the most of it.
Laurel yawned.
-I’m going to bed. Goodnight she said. She took off her breastplate and I realised she was in pyjamas.
-‘night. I said.
-That’s your bunk right there, by the window.
-Okay. But Laurel was already sleeping. I pulled the blankets over her, kicked off my sneakers and plopped in the bed.
In my dream, three people were sitting in a cold cell. One was a girl with auburn hair, lying face down on the ground, her hands handcuffed behind her back, her hairline sticky with blood. The youngest, about 17, was wearing a straitjacket. The other was trying to get it off of him. I couldn’t see either of their faces.
-It’s not use boy, I can’t take it off.
-Keep trying. I need to get you back to camp; you’re the only one who knows who it is.
-I don’t know as I’ve told you before. The man said frowning.
-You do, deep down. Mr D can unlock it, I just know he can!
-Going somewhere? A voice said from the entrance.
I woke up in cold sweat. The cabin was dark and I heard Laurel moan something like “Further, further”. When I tried to remember my dream I couldn’t. What was it about? Why had it scared me so much? And that’s how Laurel found me when she woke up. Sitting strait, frowning, starring at the back wall.
