Why do people keep comparing books? Can't you just accept them and leave them alone? I'm getting very tired of this.

I could easily compare Harry Potter with Lord of the Rings. I see a lot of similarities.
My amazingly awesome English teacher (HI MR. B!! YOU'RE AWESOME!!!) once said that "Good writers borrow, great writers steal." So it's no surprise that some of the greatest books in history have similarities between them.

But, as long as this is here, I guess it won't do much good to waste this forum just because of my petty complaints.

1) Three main characters (Percy, Annabeth and Grover/ Harry, Ron and Hermione)
2) The Big Baddies are very evil (Kronos and Gaia/ Voldemort)
3) MAGIC. THERE'S ALWAYS MAGIC.
4) Sports (Capture the Flag/ Quidditch
5) They're both in my Top 10 Favorite Books list.

I can list more... but I'm sleepy right now...

PS, I think this should be in the Harry Potter vs. Percy Jackson spot.

Yes. Most authors steal idea's from each other. Like Eragon and Lord of the Rings. There is no need to go around trying to name all of them. Keep the thoughts to yourself. Its not hard. Or your going to anger 'Hate Harry Potter' fans or whatever fans.
