The Vampire Diaries Question

Hey Can anybody help me out? I really want to watch the Vampire diaries but I missed the the 1st season, can anybody tell me where I can watch it safly and for free? I live in the UK & I don't think ITV2 will do reapeats untill nxt year! Please help..
