Hair doesn't make the character. so long as she looks like Katharine, I really don't care, and sooner or later you guys wont either. LOL because it doesn't really matter all that much. :)

Yeah, but if you recall, Stefan is always commenting on her gorgeous blonde hair. How it changes throughout the story. How when she's a vampire it's bleach blonde, how when she's human it's not dull, but darker, then in the Nightfall it's back to normal.

It's the first impression that really matters, in the movies or TV show usually. When you see a red-haired, blonde or brunette it changes the way you think of a character and to me it's kind of important. In my imagination also Elena looked basically like a model, and in show Nina disappointed me a bit...

nina is not like elena...she's not self-confident and will get everything she wants...so with hair that went away too. this elena reminds me of bella a little bit and that's killing me. cause twilight sucks

It works better because Elena is so different in the show which is good, because Elena in the book was self-centered and annoying.

I dont think the hair matters but it is her eyes!! they are brown, they are meant to be lapis lazul with gold flecks!!!

I haven't read the books yet but I don't think I would mind that she's brunette. I let ya know after I've read the books lol
