I usually answer my own picks first. I have a strong opinion on this one. I think I just found out who's playing Bonnie. I am PISSED, AND I DO NOT LIKE!!! It's an actress named Katerina Graham. I don't have anything agains her but she doesn't even have the red curly hair. And by the clips it doesn't look like they are going to change it. When you're going to make a book into a tv series or movie have some sense and follow the book, at least the description of the characters. I didn't even notice at the time but they even changed her last name. Sorry for all the venting.

I'm VERY annoyed... I was talking to my boyfriend on the phone at the time, as I was watching the video of who's playing who, and I ranted and raged for a good 10 minutes down the phone. He didn't exactly care but I had to vent my frustration. I read on some forum a girl saying how they are 'butchering' all the teen reads she ever loved, and I feel the same way =[. I admit I'm probably over-reacting, making a big deal out of it, but I guess I can be quite passionate about book characters and... I'm quite ridiculous in wanting the actors to look exactly how I pictured them in my head... which of course is impossible and silly. But I'm like that... I can't help it. And I hate pointless character changes. Urgh!

I love all of the cast except maybe er Bonnie (and I HATE the fact they eliminated Meredith). I loved her red-curly hair form the books it made her very distinctive, a great contrast to Elena's blonde hair...I don't know if she has great chemistery with Ian then I might overlook it, jus this once. And oh, bring Meredith BACK!

A lot of my favorite books are butchered by movies being made of them and i accept it - after all, the books are usually always better. But the fact that they're changing so many things from the book - no meredith, name changes - is to me as if they don't care about the book. They could at least keep the names the same...

i have to agree with you, forbiddenLURVE, I was in hysterics when i found this out but know that i've been seeing the tv series; i'm okay with it. although, i absolutely positive that it would have been better with the original characters, maybe a little less drama, but i would have loved to see it anyway.

No. I didn't really have a clear enough picture of the characters in my head to be upset with the changes. I've only read the first book and I heard about the series because of hearing about the tv-show being made.

I hate it. What is with Nina, Elena is supposed to have blonde hair. Bonnie looks nothing like her, and whats with the Witch crap, it's Druids not witches!
Where the hell is Meredith and whats with taking Margaret out and adding a brother, and using Aunt Jenna instead of Aunt Judith.

^^So true. I really wish that they would have added Meredith to the cast and Bonnie with red hair, but i don't mind so much now.

I can get over everything. That Elena is not blonde (actually Im happy about that) , that Caroline is good INSTEAD of Bad, that theres NO Meredith, but WTF ? BONNIE ?? Jesss this girl annoys me so MUCH ! The whole cast is ok ,but whats up with Bonnie, who ta heck chose her for this part ?!
