"Feels good to finally get it out." Oh, god, my heart ached for Tony in that moment. (Notice how he tugs at his tie when Ray says that? Yup. *He* can't get it out. It's still choking him.)

Also, the throwing of the paper towel - yeah, Ray does a nice shot, but Tony hits the bin without even looking. That guy is *good*. And in this case, my personal interpretation of this is - he *is* the better man, but it doesn't get him anywhere (yet).

So, while I type this, I think I have figured out the puzzle analogy for myself - this really *is* how they go at relationships. Tony moves in from the edges (likes me, looks hot, is sassy, and yeah, willing, too, so let's try this out and see what comes out of it) whereas Ziva goes in from the inside (lays a foundation first, shares things and experiences, gets to know someone... gathers trust, and then we can see if this is going somewhere).

Executive producer Shane Brennan confirms to me exclusively that a Spring episode will delve into DiNozzo’s life before he became an NCIS agent (and the object of Ziva’s unrequited lust).
