In the books, *SPOILER* no, he doesn't. BUT, Alan Balls isn't sticking that close to the books and he doesn't particularly care for Eric. It's anyone's guess. I hope not - he better not. Alan Ball will have a sh*t-ton of angry fangirls after his as* if he does.

No Eric can't die...that would ruin SO much of what's to come. PLUS according to E! online both Eric and Russell are both signed on to come back next season..no yelling if I ruined anything!

Nah, I don't think he will (though I haven't seen the eposide) I mean, in the books, he doesn't but I know things in the TV series are totally different but I mean, eric is a MAJOR character, I mean, he's really the BIG competition for Sookie against Bill, isn't he? Take out Eric and that will totally ruin the show ... plus there will be a lot of angry fans out there. So, I doubt that Eric's gonna die.
