She was attacked by the maenad too... in the books Sookie was attacked as a message for Eric, but in the show the attack seems to have a more personal meaning.
Maybe Daphne has crossed the maenad as well? Or maybe she's a supe too?
I'm pretty certain it will pop up on spoilersites why Daphne was attacked, soon... if you really want to know, keep an eye on those ;)

Yeah, without delving to much into spoilers I'm pretty sure the reason why Sookie was attacked can be found in episode 2x01 (hint hint)
I think she is a shape shifter too. She has been cut up by that thing that sookie was so she is gonna be dead now. I think that thing is Tara's new guy? IDK I am just sayin??
